Reducing environmental impact is a global priority and also a shared responsibility within the chemical industry.

At Lumar Química, we have begun the process of calculating our carbon footprint—a key tool for understanding and managing our CO₂ emissions. This step allows us to move toward a more efficient and responsible operation, identifying opportunities for improvement across our activities.

Sustainability Applied in Chemical Formulation

Our commitment to sustainability is also reflected in the products we distribute.

 

At Lumar Química, we work to offer additives that help formulators develop more sustainable lubricants and greases, while still meeting the technical demands of the market.

 

One example of this work is the recent addition of SULFAD®1523E from SEQENS, an extreme-pressure (EP) additive included in the LUSC-List (Lubricant Substance Classification List), which identifies substances suitable for formulations that meet the criteria of the European Ecolabel.

SULFAD®1523E: Performance and Environmental Respect

SULFAD®1523E is a sulfurized blend of natural fatty acid esters, soluble in Group I, II, III base oils and naphthenic oils.

 

It is a clear-colored, low-odor, non-corrosive (towards copper) EP additive, especially recommended for the formulation of greases and cutting or forming fluids.

 

By including this additive in our catalog, Lumar Química expands its range of low-impact ingredients, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement.
