At Lumar Química, sustainability is becoming an increasingly important part of the way we operate, grow, and create value. As part of this commitment, during 2025 we took a significant step forward by joining the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative.

By becoming a participant in the Global Compact, Lumar Química reinforces its commitment to conducting business responsibly and contributing to a more sustainable future. This decision aligns with the objectives of the United Nations 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which provide a global framework for addressing some of the world’s most pressing social, environmental, and economic challenges.

A Long-Term Commitment to Responsible Growth

The United Nations Global Compact encourages companies to align their strategies and operations with universal principles related to human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption. For Lumar Química, joining this initiative represents an opportunity to continue integrating sustainability into our business activities while creating positive impacts for our customers, partners, employees, and communities.

As part of this journey, we have identified three Sustainable Development Goals that will guide many of our actions and initiatives in the coming years.

SDG 1: No Poverty

Lumar Química is committed to supporting initiatives that contribute to improving the lives of people facing vulnerable situations. We already collaborate with organisations such as the Red Cross and are exploring additional initiatives, including clothing donation campaigns, food bank collaborations, and other community-focused projects that can help generate a positive social impact.

We believe that businesses have an important role to play in supporting local communities and creating opportunities that contribute to social well-being.

SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

Sustainability begins with everyday decisions. For this reason, Lumar Química is working to promote a more responsible use of resources throughout its operations. This includes reducing waste, encouraging the reuse of materials such as IBC containers, promoting the use of sustainable products and materials, and improving travel efficiency by optimising business trips whenever possible.

By integrating these practices into our daily activities, we aim to reduce our environmental footprint while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and responsible resource management.

SDG 13: Climate Action

Understanding and reducing environmental impact is another key priority for Lumar Química. We are currently measuring our carbon footprint and evaluating actions that will help us reduce emissions across our operations and supply chain.

In addition, we are exploring environmental initiatives that could contribute to offsetting CO₂ emissions through projects designed to protect ecosystems and support climate action objectives. We believe that meaningful change is achieved through consistent efforts and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Building a More Sustainable Future Together

At Lumar Química, we understand that sustainability is not a single project but an ongoing process that requires collaboration, innovation, and commitment. Joining the United Nations Global Compact marks an important milestone in this journey and reinforces our determination to contribute positively to society and the environment.

We remain committed to building a more sustainable future through responsible business practices, long-term partnerships, and actions that create lasting value for both people and the planet.
