At Lumar Química, sustainability is becoming an increasingly important part of the way we operate and grow as a company. In 2025, we joined the United Nations Global Compact, reinforcing our commitment to responsible business practices and a more sustainable future aligned with global principles.
A global sustainability framework
By joining the Global Compact, Lumar Química aligns its strategy with the United Nations 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals. This framework provides a structured approach for companies to integrate social, environmental and ethical principles into their operations. For us, it represents a long-term commitment to embedding sustainability into everyday decision-making and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Within this framework, we have identified three priority Sustainable Development Goals that will guide our actions in the coming years. The first is SDG 1 – No Poverty, focused on supporting initiatives that improve the lives of people in vulnerable situations, including collaborations with organisations such as the Red Cross. The second is SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, where we work to reduce waste, improve resource efficiency, promote reuse of materials such as IBC containers and encourage more sustainable operational practices.
The third is SDG 13 – Climate Action, where we are working to measure and reduce our carbon footprint across operations and supply chain activities. We are also evaluating initiatives aimed at supporting emission reduction and environmental compensation projects aligned with climate protection goals.
Building impact through daily action
At Lumar Química, we understand that sustainability is not defined by a single initiative but by continuous improvement and shared responsibility. Joining the United Nations Global Compact is an important step, but the real impact comes from daily decisions, operational improvements and collective commitment.
